Dette studie er et randomiseret fase 3-studie, der sammenligner pemetrexed og cisplatin-kombination med gemcitabin og cisplatin til behandling af ikke-småcellet lungekræft (NCSLC). Inklusionskriterier:

  • Diagnose af NSCLC Stadium IIIB ikke modtagelig for helbredende behandling eller Stadie IV.
  • Ingen forudgående kemoterapi for lungekræft.
  • Patienter skal have mindst én endimensionelt målbar læsion.
  • Forudgående strålebehandling til mindre end 25 % af knoglemarven, hele bækkenet ikke tilladt. Stråling skal være afsluttet mindst 4 uger før studieoptagelse.

Ekskluderingskriterier:

  • Behandling med ethvert lægemiddel inden for de sidste 30 dage, som ikke har modtaget myndighedsgodkendelse.
  • Alvorlig hjertelidelse.
  • Alvorlig medicinsk lidelse ud over NSCLC, der ville gøre det vanskeligt for patienten at gennemføre undersøgelsen.
