Virtual Reality-Based Integrative Simulation Nursing Home Visit (Virtual)
Virtual Reality-Based Integrative Simulation: A Novel Approach to Enhancing Psychomotor Competence in Interactive Community Nursing Home Visit
Studieoversigt
Detaljeret beskrivelse
This study is designed to assess the effect of a virtual reality-based integrative simulation program on psychometric competence in interactive community nursing home visits among nursing students. Community-based nursing education requires students to develop adequate knowledge, psychomotor skills, communication abilities, and professional attitudes to safely and effectively provide care in home and community settings. Traditional training approaches may not fully prepare students for the complexity of real-life nursing home visits, particularly in situations that require interaction, decision-making, and psychomotor performance in a realistic but safe learning environment.
Virtual reality-based simulation has emerged as an innovative educational strategy that offers immersive, interactive, and standardized learning experiences. It allows learners to practice clinical and communication skills repeatedly in a controlled environment without risk to patients. Therefore, this study will investigate whether a virtual reality-based integrative simulation can improve nursing students' competence related to interactive community nursing home visits.
The study will use a pre-test/post-test design to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention. Participants will receive virtual reality-based training focused on community nursing home visit scenarios. Data will be collected before and after the intervention using structured assessment tools that measure knowledge, practical skills, attitudes, and psychomotor competence. Additional measures will include system usability and participant satisfaction with the training program.
The primary purpose of the study is to determine whether the virtual reality-based intervention improves psychometric competence in nursing home visit practice. The findings of this study may contribute to the development of innovative nursing education strategies and support the integration of virtual reality simulation into community health nursing training programs.

Eksperimentel: Virtual Reality-Based Integrative Simulation Group
Participants in this group received virtual reality-based integrative simulation training for community nursing home visits.
The intervention provided an immersive and interactive learning environment that enabled students to practice assessment, communication, health education, documentation, and other home-visit nursing skills using VR technology.
|
Participants in the intervention group will receive a virtual reality-based integrative simulation training program designed to enhance psychometric competence during interactive community nursing home visits.
The training will provide immersive, scenario-based learning experiences that simulate home visit situations and allow participants to practice assessment, communication, decision-making, and psychomotor nursing skills in a safe and controlled virtual environment.
The intervention is intended to improve knowledge, practical skills, attitudes, and psychomotor competence related to community health nursing home visits.

Change in Psychomotor Competence Score Assessed by the Psychomotor Competence Questionnaire (PCQ)
Tidsramme: Baseline and 8 weeks post-intervention
|
Psychomotor Competence Questionnaire (PCQ), a 15-item questionnaire developed based on Simpson's Psychomotor Learning Taxonomy.
The PCQ evaluates five domains: accuracy of skill performance, motor coordination and control, speed and efficiency of performance, confidence and independence, and transferability of skills to the clinical setting.
Each item is rated on a 5-point Likert scale ranging from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree).
Total scores range from 15 to 75, with higher scores indicating greater psychomotor competence.
