Inclusion Criteria:

  • Symptomatic diastolic heart failure
  • Breathlessness with physical exertion

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Uncontrolled hypertension
  • Asthma, COPD, or abnormal lung function
  • History of stroke, myocardial infarction, heart failure, chest pain, abnormal heart rhythm
  • Liver, kidney, or pancreas disease
  • Allergy to valsartan
