Inclusion Criteria:
- Persons aged 60 years and older and who require medical attention in the emergency rooms due to sustaining a fall.
Exclusion Criteria:
- A major unstable cardiopulmonary disease
- Cognitive impairment
- Contraindications to physical exercise
- The inability to ambulate
- Frail elderly.

Active Comparator: Lower-extremity exercise training
This training will be tailored by physical therapists for each participant.
A series of exercises will be applied to increase the stability of the trunk muscles and to strengthen the leg muscles.

Exercise will be taught every week over the 6-month intervention period at a subject's residence by instructors.

Active Comparator: Tai chi exercise
Yang-style tai chi with 18 movements will be taught every week over the 6-month intervention period at a subject's residence by tai chi instructors
