The Effect of Virtual Reality-Based Disaster Training on Disaster Readiness of Health Science Students (VR-DT-DRHSS)
This study evaluated the effect of three-dimensional (simulations) virtual reality-based disaster training with simulation on disaster readiness among health science students. The study used a randomized controlled design. Participants assigned to the intervention group received disaster training using 3D virtual reality technology and simulation, while participants in the control group received usual education or training. Outcomes were assessed at baseline before the intervention, after completion of the training, and at a subsequent follow-up assessment. The study aimed to evaluate the effects of simulations virtual reality-based simulation training on disaster readiness over time.

Detailed Description
Disaster readiness is an important competency for health science students, who may be required to contribute to healthcare responses during emergencies and disasters. Educational strategies that combine practical learning with simulated scenarios may help students develop the preparedness needed to respond to disaster situations.
Three-dimensional (simulations) virtual reality technology combined with simulation provides an immersive learning environment in which students can engage with simulated disaster scenarios. This approach allows students to experience disaster-related situations in a controlled educational setting.
This randomized controlled study evaluated the effect of simulations virtual reality-based disaster training with simulation on disaster readiness among health science students. Participants were randomly assigned to an intervention group or a control group. The intervention group received simulations virtual reality-based disaster training with simulation, while the control group received usual education or training.
Study outcomes were assessed before the intervention, after the training, and at a subsequent follow-up assessment using the measurement instruments specified in the study protocol. The study examined whether the intervention affected disaster readiness and whether any observed effects were maintained at follow-up after 8 week.

Experimental: Virtual Reality-Based Disaster Training
Participants received disaster training using simulations virtual reality technology and simulation |
Participants in the intervention group received disaster training using three-dimensional virtual reality technology and simulation. The training was designed to provide an immersive learning experience involving disaster scenarios to support disaster readiness among health science students. The intervention was delivered according to the study protocol. |
|
No Intervention: Usual Education or Training
Participants received disaster training without using simulations virtual reality technology and simulation |

Primary Outcome Measures
Outcome Measure |
Measure Description |
Time Frame |
|---|---|---|
|
Disaster Preparedness Skills
Time Frame: Baseline before the intervention to immediately after completion of training.
|
Disaster preparedness skills will be assessed using the Disaster Preparedness Skills Form (DPSF). The minimum possible score is 0, and the maximum possible score is 25. Higher scores indicate better disaster preparedness skills. |
Baseline before the intervention to immediately after completion of training.

|
Disaster Preparedness Skills at 8-Week Follow-Up
Time Frame: 8 weeks after completion of the training.
|
Disaster readiness skills will be assessed using the Disaster Preparedness Skills Form (DPSF), the same measurement instrument used for the baseline and post-training assessments. The minimum possible score is 0, and the maximum possible score is 25. Higher scores indicate better disaster preparedness skills. |
8 weeks after completion of the training.
