PERUSTELUT: Biologiset hoidot, kuten interferoni alfa-2b, voivat häiritä kasvainsolujen kasvua. Bevasitsumabi voi pysäyttää kasvainsolujen kasvun estämällä veren virtauksen kasvaimeen. Vielä ei tiedetä, onko interferoni alfa-2b tehokkaampi bevasitsumabin kanssa tai ilman sitä edenneen munuaissyövän (munuaissyöpä) hoidossa.

TARKOITUS: Tässä satunnaistetussa vaiheen III tutkimuksessa tutkitaan interferoni alfa-2b:tä ja bevasitsumabia sen selvittämiseksi, kuinka hyvin ne toimivat verrattuna pelkkään interferoni alfa-2b:hen hoidettaessa potilaita, joilla on edennyt munuaissyöpä.

TAVOITTEET:

Ensisijainen

  • Vertaa niiden potilaiden kokonaiseloonjäämistä, joilla on edennyt munuaissyöpä ja joita hoidetaan pelkällä interferoni alfa-2b:llä tai interferoni alfa-2b:llä bevasitsumabin kanssa.

Toissijainen

  • Vertaa aikaa taudin etenemiseen ja objektiivisia vasteprosentteja näillä hoito-ohjelmilla hoidetuilla potilailla.
  • Selvitä interferoni alfa-2b:n toksisuus yhdessä bevasitsumabin kanssa näillä potilailla.

OUTLINE: Tämä on satunnaistettu, monikeskustutkimus. Potilaat jaetaan aiemman munuaisten poiston (kyllä ​​vs ei) ja taudin etenemisen riskitekijöiden lukumäärän (0 vs 1-2 vs 3 tai enemmän) mukaan. Potilaat satunnaistetaan yhteen kahdesta hoitohaarasta.

  • Käsivarsi I: Potilaat saavat interferoni alfa-2b:tä ihonalaisesti (SC) kolme kertaa viikossa.
  • Haara II: Potilaat saavat interferoni alfa-2b:tä kuten ryhmässä I ja bevasitsumabia IV 30–90 minuutin ajan päivinä 1 ja 15.

Molemmissa käsissä kurssit toistetaan 28 päivän välein ilman taudin etenemistä tai ei-hyväksyttävää toksisuutta.

Potilaita seurataan 3 kuukauden välein 2 vuoden ajan ja sen jälkeen vuosittain enintään 10 vuoden ajan tutkimukseen tulon jälkeen.

ARVIOTETTU KERTYMÄ: Yhteensä 700 potilasta (350 per hoitohaara) kerääntyy tähän tutkimukseen kolmen vuoden sisällä.

Endokriininen terapia

  • Ei samanaikaista systeemistä kortikosteroidihoitoa lukuun ottamatta seuraavia:

    • Paikalliset ja inhaloitavat steroidit
    • Lisämunuaisen vajaatoiminnan korvaushoito
