  Job Summary Perform routine histology techniques such as: animal tissue cutting, automated tissue preparation, paraffin embedding, microtome cutting, manual staining and blade mounting. We are seeking a Technician for our Histology site located in Sennevile, Qc.

The following are responsibilities related to the Histology Technician: Prepare tissues for microscopic analysis Apply histology techniques: dissection, circulation, coating, cut out of paraffin or plastic, colouring and quality control. Designs and/or executes pathology testing strategies and studies. Leads the conduct of pathologic investigations, reviews and interprets data, communicates results to clients and writes final reports. Serves as Project Scientist, Principal Investigator, Contributing Scientist, Project Leader or Study Director, as applicable. Functions as a subject matter expert and interprets and evaluates the work in areas such as clinical pathology, morphology, histology, histopathology, histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, morphometrics or electron microscopy. Ensures compliance with protocols and all applicable SOPs. Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues in the laboratory when scientific expertise is needed. May introduce new technologies or introduce improvements in existing technologies. Provides advisory functions to clients designing a program or experiment, dealing with specific dataset interpretation, or when appropriate answering questions from regulatory authorities.

We are seeking a candidate who: Possesses a DEC in Medical Laboratory, Inventory and Research in Biology or other DEC in science or a B.Sc. in Biology or relevant work experience. Is able to manipulate items up to 30 lbs. Is meticulous, organized and able to work as a team. Able to work with computers
