Job Summary We are seeking a Laboratory Technician - PCR Reagents to work with our Molecular Diagnostics & Genetic Testing groups at our Wilmington location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Aseptically prepare stock reagents and buffers from various vendors. Document preparations as outlined in SOP. Perform scheduled inventory of reagents.  Prepare and stock necessary reagents. Assist in SOP creation and updating. Assist in order placement of reagents, oligonucleotides and consumables. Assist with supply receiving and order reconciliation.  Coordinate and package reagent shipments as directed by supervisor. Use and maintain department equipment with assistance from senior staff. Make detailed observations and maintain documentation of all laboratory work. Ability to work in a structured and regulated environment. Work productively in group situations as well as independently. Assist in reporting departmental exceptions to the manager or designee as instructed.  Share responsibility for departmental housekeeping and adherence to established safety procedures.  Responsible for proficiency in all related department SOP’s, with general knowledge of the laboratory processes. Maintain skills in using computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and others as the need arises.  Maintain up to date training records on all procedures and protocols applicable to work duties.  Adhere to all departmental SOPs, policies, safety procedures and protocols.  Remain organized in a fast-paced environment.  Perform all other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent in biological sciences or related discipline.  0 to 2 years related industry experience in a Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or Contract Research Organization laboratory environment.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Strong organization and prioritization skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively in a small group or one-on-one setting. Proficient in computers:   ie:  MS Office Suite.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prior experience working under cleanroom settings. Experience using aseptic techniques.
