The Real-World Data Engineer II must demonstrate strong skills and passion in Data Management and play an essential part in data management and our development of Clinical Data solutions leveraging Real World Data (RWD) to bring essential medications to patients safely, quickly and efficiently.
He/she will be a liaison between our Data Strategy Leads and study teams, working with a vast array of data sources/standards and cloud computing. He/she will work within and contribute to our data-driven solutions by data modelling / pre-processing / explorative analysis and other data engineering activities.
Key Accountabilities:
Technology Expertise Proposing / working on solutions to be used by Data Scientists and Analytics teams as well as non-technical experts in a study and non-study setting Work with key stakeholders to help define their requirements and translate their needs through the implementation of cutting-edge data solutions to provide valuable insights Collaboration Collaborate with internal and external teams to proactively develop data solutions to bring to market to support the needs of our healthcare clients Technical Leadership Participate and provide technical leadership in all phases of a project from discovery and planning through implementation and delivery Make recommendations for software, hardware, and data storage upgrades Standards Compliance Ensure data comply with privacy regulations and requirements including USA’s HIPAA Security policies and procedures, GDPR requirements Data Management Applying technical and health care domain knowledge and standards for efficient data pipelining (ingest, transform, clean, load) and carrying out routine data quality checks and remediation. Mapping of diverse set of data sources to a common data Model (CDM), support Ontology mapping Harvesting structured and unstructured data and integrating methods from mathematics, statistics and probability modelling using specialized programming languages, tools and techniques .QualificationsSkills: Strong oral and written communication skills Strong customer focus (internal and external) Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to connect business needs with technology performance requirements Ability to support multiple projects Ability to set and manage priorities Ability to deploy and manage enterprise applications Proficiency in data related technologies such as databases/SQL, Python or similar scripting, MS Excel Analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge and Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience working with clinical and healthcare data, design, and development of enterprise data solutions and integration Experience in the health care industry, CRO or biopharma Expert knowledge of various healthcare industry data models and adapting those models to meet the needs of the client (ICD, SNOMED, WHODrug, MEDDRA, RxNORM, etc.) Understanding of healthcare application ecosystem (i.e. EMR, EDC) Understanding healthcare security (i.e. HIPAA, HITECH, GDPR) Demonstrated ability to work and multi-task in a dynamic, high-paced environment and effectively manage change High energy, self-motivated, approachable, and articulate team player able to perform with minimal supervision Must be able to think critically (out of the box) and be also able to pay complete attention to details Proficiency with relational databases and SQL Must have good IT skills (including data evaluation/analysis using relevant computer applications) Practical experience with big data processing ecosystem including tools like (Spark, YARN, Hive, Impala, HDFS) Must possess good numerical and analytical skills to support a range of analytical functions using advanced analytic techniques including data/text mining, machine learning, pattern matching, forecasting, visualization, semantic analysis, sentiment analysis, network and cluster analysis, multivariate statistics, graph analysis, simulation, complex event processing, neural networks. Substantial programming experience, preferably in Python, with experience with python data science ecosystem (pandas, pyspark) Preferred: Familiarity with FHIR/HL7 and interoperability Experience working in a function as part of or supporting a data-science team with a machine learning focus Experience with machine learning (Scikit-learn, Tensorflow ) Good understanding of code versioning tools such as Git and Linux proficiency Education: BS in computer science, information systems, medical informatics or equivalent experience in relevant technical area, required Master’s in computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience in relevant technical area, preferredEmployment is contingent on disclosure of your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if relevant, proof of vaccination.EEO DisclaimerParexel is an equal opportunity employer.
