The Team

The Real World Pricing team works in an agile manner using Scrum. It is mainly composed of other developers and product owners. The team builds and maintains complex budgeting tools and maintains the databases used for management dashboards.

Job Overview

Provide experienced, comprehensive and advanced technical expertise as part of a team to develop and maintain pricing systems to meet internal and external client’s needs. Plan and coordinate database design and development for local, regional, or transnational use. Provide leadership to the Pricing department in the area of technical expertise.

The purpose will be to design, develop and maintain global pricing tools and their databases, working together with a cross-functional team. These pricing tools should drive efficiency through simplicity, scalability, reduced stakeholder involvement, transparency and ultimately impact client satisfaction.

​What to expect

• Participation in the full software development life cycle as a member of an Agile SCRUM team.
• Software development using technologies including JavaScript, React, C#, Microservices, Kubernetes, Cloud technologies (Azure and AWS), SQL Server.
• Working to fortnightly sprints and participating in biweekly demos
• Working alongside other team members such as Product Owners and Software QA to write clear and comprehensive code
• Regular Innovation weeks

Essential Functions

• Serve as Lead Programmer on the corporate team.
• Plan and coordinate database design, development, implementation, maintenance, and user support of clinical systems.
• Provide advanced technical expertise in conjunction with internal and external clients.
• Program, test, and document databases in accordance with programming standards and validation procedures.
• Program database manipulations and transfers of data for internal and external clients.
• Mentor other team members and Lead Programmers in training and developing technical and/or database expertise.
• Independently bring project solutions to the Pricing team and the Programming department.
• Critically evaluates and continuously improves software design, architecture, technologies, process, techniques.
• Automates deployments (+ monitoring, fault tolerance) & standardizes environments for continuous high velocity.
• Creates, manages standardized software development environments.
• Creating/ Modifying their designs throughout the building process to maximize structural integrity.
• Designs architecture sub-systems.
• Collaborating with engineers to develop concepts for structures that meet project goals and operational standards.
• Researching, programming, planning, designing, and administering building.
• Collaborate with IT in evaluating and/or developing and implementing new technologies.
• Develop, revise, and maintain core operating procedures and working instructions with Pricing management.
• Meet milestones as assigned, and interact with the project team to organize timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables.
• Develop and maintain good communications and working relationships with teams and external clients.
• May interact with corporate team and Pricing team members to negotiate timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Computer/life science or related field Req
• 5 years of relevant work experience Or Equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Pricing Programming: Advanced knowledge of Oracle and/or SAS
• Pricing Programming: Advanced knowledge of VGL and/or BizTalk and/or C# and/or .NET
• Experience with .Net framework and building software using C#
• Experience with HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax
• Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS or ReactJS
• SQL/database experience.
• Previous experience working in a commercial Agile team
• Solid understanding of clinical drug development process
• Proven experience in modern data-driven web application development based on current Microsoft technology
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and clients
• Self-motivated and keen to contribute new ideas
