The position:

Manager of project managers and member of the Logistics department, which is responsible for purchasing, planning, customer service, import & export, and warehousing within the Operations department in the Brno facility.

In this role together with the team you will lead projects, actively search for continuous improvement opportunities, and maintains a healthy funnel and active pipeline of productivity savings. Own the S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process and secure its alignment within Brno production streams.

What will you do:

  • Drive innovation
  • Drives teams to use Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced RCCM identification, problem solving, risk/failure identification, project management, and other quality and/or lean methodologies within daily operations
  • Ensures and encourages close collaboration with the other Thermo Fisher sites for efficient cross-site alignment
  • Secure alignment in company goals, and focus on open and straightforward communication loop
  • Manage departmental budget and resources (headcount and its flexibility, space)
  • Stays close to Operation to understand key processes, and be ready to step up and support
  • Build positive relationships with customers and suppliers, and work with customer feedback to improve the service provided
  • Secure alignment and PR within cross functional teams including Operation, R&D, Sales and Service, Business Units, suppliers, customers, marketing, etc.
  • Focus on building a strong, flexible project team able to cope with daily as well as long-term challenges, support sustainable growth, drive change management, bring fun and pride philosophy into teams, and focus on employer brand
  • Lead team members’ professional development by goal setting and providing challenges for further growth, focusing on career planning (successors, critical skills management, leadership skills development)

The successful candidate should possess the following:

  • Experience in project management and supply chain management.
  • Ability to solve issues in a team, but also independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proficient English and Czech/Slovak languages
  • Good communication skills and desire for further development
  • Must have the ability to acquire a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as required (up to 25% of working time)
