POSITION SUMMARY

OmniSeq by Labcorp has an exciting opportunity in our expanding next generation sequencing (NGS) lab in Buffalo, NY. This person will support OmniSeq Insight testing, a comprehensive first-of-its-kind genomic and immune profiling assay for all solid tumors. Our mission is to find the right drug or trial for every patient. This is a first shift position, with no weekends or holidays and will require routine sectioning, H&E staining, PD-L1 IHC and macrodissection!

In this role you'll perform paraffin block based histological procedures and  tests conducted in a clinical histology laboratory, including tissue sectioning, H&E staining, immunohistochemical staining, tissue macro-dissection, and quality control and management for molecular analysis of cancers.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Prepares and examines tissue specimens using a variety of instruments and histologic techniques 
  • Sets up and works with laboratory equipment in order to test tissue for various indicators of clinical conditions
  • Performs routine maintenance on instruments and equipment in order to ensure that they are in working order
  • May perform validation studies for new equipment as required
  • Utilizes Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Clinical Laboratory Information Management System (C-LIMS) for tracking, documenting and reporting patient test results
  • Provides input in the preparation of standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains a safe and well-stocked work environment
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety and compliance standards
  • Enhances professional growth and development by participating in educational programs, reading current literature and participating in in-service meetings and workshops
  • Prepares other written documentation as required by the profession and the department; maintains, distributes, analyzes any information for required records, reports and statistics as directed

Minimum Requirements:

Full Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT) licensed by  New York State Education Department; or Clinical Laboratory Technician licensed by New York State education Department; or Histotechnician/HistoTechnologist licensed by New York State Education Department.

Shift is Monday - Friday 8:30 - 5:00

Compensation for this position: $32 - 42 / hr

Plus $5,000 Sign-On Bonus!
