Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Shipping Associate 1 for our Central Shipping team located in Mattawan, MI.

Shipping Associate 1 is responsible for shipping and receiving of multiple types of laboratory materials, including maintaining the security of archived materials during the shipping process when applicable. A Shipping Technician uses effective communication and interpersonal skills in a collaborative team environment, problem solves, and contributes to quality and efficiency improvements.

Job Qualifications

  • HS/GED/Bachelor’s degree with no relevant experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all types of documents, samples, and products handled by the organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of import/export regulations is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Computer skills, commensurate with Essential Functions, including the ability to learn a validated system.
  • Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to evenings, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts; sometimes on short notice.
  • Ability to work under specific time constraints.

Physical Requirements

The functions of this role require to be able to physically:

  • lift/carry up to 100 pounds and push/pull over 100 pounds occasionally
  • stand for extended periods of time
  • walk long distances across the facility
  • remain seated for extended periods of time
  • utilize meticulous fine-motor skills
