Cytogenetic Lab Assistant

LabCorp is seeking a Cytogenetic Lab Assistant to join our team in Portland, OR .  This role works in a high volume, production based environment performing a vital component of clinical lab science. In this position you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: -Improving Health, Improving Lives

DUTIES

• Audit and update requisitions for specimen processing and send out.
• Coordinating specimen collections and send out samples.
• Audit and scan Cytogenetic/FISH/Molecular reports.
• Follow up with providers and other medical personnel to obtain patient testing and/or history information as needed.
• Monitor and respond to department emails and phone calls.
• Maintain and update testing data spreadsheets.
• Assist other laboratory personal.

REQUIREMENTS

• Medical/science background.
• Experience with health information technology (HIT), excel, word and other computer applications.
• Good telephone and email communication skills.
• Accurate data entry skills.
• Detail orientated.

Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
