This role is based in our modern state of the art office in Nottingham city centre which has excellent transport links and a great working environment and the feel of an innovative technology company. Please note that at this time the role is being performed from home but when the office reopens you will be expected to be fully office based.

As the Senior Solution Architect you will be responsible for defining end to end solutions and / or business offerings to meet the functional and non-functional requirements of the end customer while ensuring it is costed, delivered to specification and can be operated. Your role will be to ensure that all elements of the solution are delivered including the business, application, technology layers while complying to information and security requirements and provision an operational service by directing the domain and functional experts within each of these domains.

Key Accountabilities:

Solution architecture

- Leads the development of systems architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas.

- Ensures that appropriate tools and methods are available, understood and employed in architecture development.

Methods & tools

- Provides advice / guidance / expertise to support adoption of methods and tools and adherence to policies and standards, process tailoring in line with agreed standards and evaluation of methods and tools

Requirement & definition management

- Plans and drives scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for large / complex initiatives

- Negotiates competing priorities and conflicts.

Business risk management;

- Carries out risk assessment within a defined functional or technical area of business.

- Uses consistent processes for identifying potential risk events, quantifying and documenting the probability of occurrence and the impact on the business.

Emerging technology monitoring

- Supports market monitoring and assessment of emerging technologies to evaluate potential impacts, threats and opportunities.

- Contributes to reports and technology road mapping and sharing knowledge and insights with of emerging technologies with others.

System design

- Selects, adopts and adapts appropriate systems design methods, tools and techniques selecting appropriately from plan-driven/predictive approaches or more adaptive (iterative and agile) approaches, and ensures they are applied effectively.

- Designs large or complex systems.

Quality management

- Assists project managers, functional managers or team leaders in planning the quality management for their area of responsibility.

- Assists in the development of new or improved practices and organisational processes or standards.

Change management

- Develops implementation plans for complex requests for change.;

- Evaluates risks to the integrity of service environment inherent in proposed implementations (including availability, performance, security and compliance of the business services impacted).QualificationsEducation:

- Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (Maths, Science, Engineering, Computing, etc.) or a related study, or equivalent project-related experience

- English: Fluent

Skills:

- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

- A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning

- Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail

- Shows Initiative and self-confidence is adaptable and is able to cope with changing and evolving priorities

- Must have the ability to work methodically in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment

- Ability to manage provision of consultancy services. In own areas of expertise, is able to provide advice and guidance to consultants and/or the customer or other stakeholders through involvement in the delivery of consultancy services

Knowledge and Experience:

- Demonstrable experience in technical delivery with a proven record in undertaking design and architecture activities

- Solution / Enterprise design qualification (e.g. TOGAF) or experience

- Certification in design methodology (e.g. UML) or experience

- Certification in scaled agile delivery (e.g. SAFe) or experience

- Certification in agile delivery (e.g. scrum) or experience
