The purpose of the is to coordinate & execute all local Accounting activities for IQVIA Belgium, and ensure correct accounting information and reporting from A to Z.

You will gather and verify the accuracy of financial data and reconcile accounts.

This role also ensures that strong controls are applied in compliance with the company’s SOX and internal control framework, as well as with external audit requirements.

Tasks and responsibilitiesWhat You’ll Do:

Coordinate & execute local Accounting activities of one company from A to Z.

• Execute month-end & quarter-end closing activities – perform account analysis to make sure entries and balances are correct.
• Coordinating offshore / onshore Shared Services
• Prepare and review account reconciliations
• Reconciling accounts with the general ledger
• Analyze and interpret financial information to provide assurance that information complies with professional and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial information.
• Entering financial data such as accruals, deferrals and reclassifications into the ledger, as well as preparing reports.
• Gathering supporting documentation and performing recordkeeping.
• Internal controls/compliance: ensure that internal and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) controls are adhered to and performed in a timely matter.
• Assisting in the preparation of the external / internal audit files and annual accounts.
• Preparation & filing of the VAT declarations & surveys.
• Assisting in the preparation of the TAX declarations and forms.

Required knowledge, skills & abilities

Formal qualifications and experience

• University or Bachelor degree in Accounting or related subject area preferred
• 3 to 5 years professional experience within an accounting team
• Knowledge BE GAAP is a must
• A first experience dealing with shared services within an Int’l environment is a plus
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• SAP and/or Peoplesoft knowledge is a strong plus
• Strong general accounting skills (statutory as well as international standards)
• Ability to work within a complex and changing environment
• Good knowledge of Microsoft PC Tools (MS Excel, MS Word, …)
• Strong quantitative and analytical capability
• Fluent in written and spoken English, Dutch and French
• Can work independently but is also an excellent team player
• Strong external stakeholder orientation (Audit & Taxes, Tax authorities etc)
