Position Summary:

  • Provide system design requirements, in support of automation projects, to meet user specifications, along with GMP and data integrity standards.
  • Create user documentation and procedures for new systems, commissioning and start-up.
  • Support the startup of new automation systems by ensuring code and configurations meet specifications and validation requirements.
  • To act as the site Engineering SME for serialization & commercial equipment.
  • Provide ‘out of hours’ guidance and support in diagnosing and resolving difficult automation hardware, software, instrument, and process problems to maintain system readiness. Frequently, this effort requires collaboration with other site maintenance teams. Communicate issue resolution summary to impacted area supervision.
  • Build, or coordinate creation of, complete and detailed specifications and related documentation is provided that clearly defines user needs and system functionality for new automation systems or modifications to existing systems.
  • Retrieve supporting data from automation systems to support production or quality department requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the sites Automation Engineering requirements and conduct site training for Automation!
  • Work in a safe and responsible manner to create an injury-free and incident-free workplace.
  • Provide guidance on onboarding, Master Data and connectivity serialization activities with current and future partners.
  • Support internal and external issues related to serialization, supporting investigations and file repair activities.  Responsibilities will include responding to Optel and related serialization system/equipment escalated support requests on the packaging lines.
  • Function as a site TraceLink track and trace system administrator!
  • Manage the site serialization requirements and conduct site training for serialization.
  • Follow all job-related safety and other training requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND, Engineering or related subject area.
  • Minimum of one year of meaningful work experience in pharmaceutical automation or controls systems automation.
  • PLC automation control system start-ups, loop tuning, and control system modifications.
  • Development of process control systems or equipment control applications using PLC ladder and function block logicEquivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
  • Relevant Pharmaceutical/GMP Industry experience
  • Previous experience in validation/CSV role.
  • Knowledge of GMP legislation and best document practices.
  • Experience in dealing with Local and Regulatory Authorities.
  • Excellent presentation & motivational skills.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships and effective communicator.
