Job Description

This role supports PSI’s legal needs in the Benelux region (The Netherlands and Belgium) with a primary focus on contracts related to clinical research. As an Associate Legal Counsel you will work closely with PSI’s global legal team as well as with local and international project teams to determine appropriate terms and conditions of contracts and to provide legal advice and support.

In this role you will:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents related to clinical research.
  • Adapt PSI contract templates to meet the specific requirements of clients, hospitals, investigators, medical specialists, and vendors.
  • Prepare and review corporate documents.
  • Provide advice and support on compliance with clinical research legislation, company law, employment law, data protection, and other relevant legislation.
  • Draft, review, and update PSI policies, procedures, and instructions pertaining to legal matters, and assist in their implementation.
  • Support compliance with PSI policies, procedures, and instructions concerning legal matters.
  • Deliver training to other PSI departments.
  • Conduct research and analysis on various legal matters.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Law from a university in the Netherlands
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in an international commercial legal practice
  • Full professional working proficiency in Dutch and English; proficiency in French is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of commercial, corporate and contract law, as well as other relevant legislation (e.g. clinical trial regulation; GDPR; employment law)
  • Advanced legal contract drafting and review skills
  • Good communication, negotiations and organizational skills
  • Ability to work accurately with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
