Job Overview
Subject matter expert in all leave of absence programs, including: the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), state and local family leave laws, short-term/long-term disability plans, and company-sponsored leave plans. This role is critical in managing US leave strategy at IQVIA, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements, maintaining leave policy documents in line with changing legislation, optimizing the employee experience, managing vendor relationships, and providing exceptional support to HR and leaders across our organization.  

Essential Functions
•    Administering US leave of absence programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws, and IQVIA guidelines
•    Keeping abreast of dynamic leave laws and regulatory changes; driving policy recommendations and process modifications
•    Managing the employee leave experience to promote ease of execution, efficiency, clarity, and convenience both at the time of application and throughout the duration of the leave
•    Providing high levels of service to internal leadership and IQVIA employees
•    Overseeing several hundred individual employee disability related leaves in US,  with appropriate processes to track and follow leaves
•    Effectively communicating processes and setting employee expectations by developing a leave guide for employees considering or preparing for leave, creating relevant online resources and updating existing microsites for employees and HR teams
•    Accurately documenting and coordinating leaves within IQVIA’s HR systems, including Workday, multiple payrolls and benefits systems
•    Ensuring appropriate administration of payroll, benefits, and retirement contributions for individuals on leave of absence, 
•    Working closely with local HR teams and other support staff to provide superior service to employees on leaves
•    Driving analysis from HRIS data, leveraging analytics to predict future demands, and presenting to leadership on leave trends
•    Continually evaluating the effectiveness of the leave programs, practices, and procedures
•    Developing and maintaining effective business partnerships and a strong network of key stakeholders such as the North America HR Network, Legal, Finance, and Payroll 
•    Handling multiple concurrent projects, keeping information organized, and learning on the fly to keep up with the lightning speed of our environment
•    Actively participating in the broader HR community; inputting on regional initiatives and projects
•    Exercising discretion and confidentiality, independent judgement, and maintaining data integrity
•    Managing other projects and programs as required


Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree and/or PHR/SPHR preferred
•    7+ years of HR and/or leave management experience in a progressive HR department
•    Extensive knowledge of laws and policies regarding leaves of absences, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and state-specific regulations
•    Familiarity with Workday preferred
•    The ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced, global, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment, keeping with IQVIA’s values and culture
•    An aptitude for managing and maintaining large sets of data; using data to generate insights
•    Maturity and seasoning that engenders respect and trust from others; sound judgment, professionalism, strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative style
•    Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills; able to adapt both for varied audiences
•    Project management skills to track leaves and plan activities in preparation for new policy provisions
•    Proven analytical capabilities; a quick study; a bright executive with a can-do attitude, a creative solution seeker and a readiness to try new approaches; decisive, pragmatic, and reason-minded
•    Comfort working in the details and understanding the big picture; able to consider the ramifications of decisions on various constituencies
•    Understanding of IQVIA policies, practices, structure and how decisions are made
•    Capacity to prioritize across multiple issues and to respond quickly with an appropriate sense of urgency
