  Job Summary  

Responsible for support and operation of software platforms and applications in a global IT environment; monitoring and optimizing performance, maximizing reliability, managing changes and performing the triage and resolution of complex platform / application issues.  Inspired to provide a robust and reliable operational service and take great satisfaction from resolving issues and implementing improvements. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

1.    Consistently deliver high-quality services to customers and effectively set and manage customer expectations.

2.    Approve, schedule, document and perform platform, application and data changes to provide users with new capabilities or maintain existing capabilities while ensuring the integrity and reliability of applications and the platform.

3.    Support developers, product owners, testers, business and IT managers and other technical and business staff on the best processes and practices to minimize development and operational time and effort and to maximize application performance and reliability.

4.    Monitor, manage and report on the operations of the platform and its hosted applications to anticipate and deal with performance or reliability issues before these impact users.

5.    Plan, setup, test and maintain platform and technical infrastructure, to explore new designs and to prepare for and implement improved architectures and configurations.

6.    Have good empathetic and communications skills to work effectively with customers and colleagues, particularly to help identify business and technical priorities and options when dealing with operational issues.

7.    Use technical knowledge to resolve issues in a timely manner and ensure all issues are identified, tracked and recorded in the service desk system.

8.    Organize break/fix analysis for individual and recurring support issues.  Document findings and work with appropriate resources to find and deliver cost effective and timely solutions. 

9.    Ensure work is compliant with business governance models and implements applicable guidelines and regulations (e.g. GxP, SOX, etc.).

10.    Assist in the facilitation of effective team and customer meetings and interactions.

11.    Perform all other related duties as assigned. 

  Job Qualifications •    Education:  Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline.

•    Experience:  Minimum 8 years applicable IT experience.

•    Experience in operating OutSystems or a similar application management platform would be beneficial.

•    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

•    Other:  In-depth knowledge of current IT technologies and state-of-the-art practices including an understanding of application lifecycle and database and systems design.  Must understand internet and web architectures and how legacy and web-based systems interface with each other.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to deliver informative, well-organized presentations.  Able to use empathy and persuasion to work well in a busy team environment.  This position requires good analytical skills and the ability to provide solutions to issues. 

Other Basic Competencies:

•    SQL Server, SSMS and transact SQL – Azure Data Studio would be useful.

•    IIS installation and configuration, particularly App Pool & .NET configuration.

•    Windows Server – configuration and management, understand performance monitoring and issues resolution, knowledge of PowerShell useful.

•    VM Ware use, configuration and management.

•    Basic understanding of networking – IP, DNS, Load Balancers and SSL Certificates.

•    MS-Office – Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
