  Job Summary  

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for administering the Canadian payroll function.  Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll.

 

We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team located in Laval, Qc with telework opportunities. This is a temporary contract for 12-18 months.

 

The following are responsibilities related to Payroll Specialist position:

 

Process, reconcile and audit bi-weekly payroll for Canada employees.

Carry out reimbursement requests related to CNESST files.

Perform remittances related to payroll (RRSP, alimony, etc.).

Make changes and additions to group insurance premiums when required.

Prepare special “off-cycle” payroll runs for bonus and stock options.

Audit ADP Workforce Now and SuccessFactors data and resolve variances.

Manage time banks, sick leaves, vacations, and unpaid absences in connection with SAP and in support of the Finance team.

Support the payroll request level 1 and 2.

Support year end processes i.e., year-end adjustments, year-end tax statements and review of year-end tax filing information).

Participate in the preparation of year-end audit files related to payroll.

Participate in the implementation of information and management systems.

Prepare a variety of ad-hoc reports as requested.

Perform any other reasonable duties that may be required. Job Qualifications  

The following are minimum qualifications related to the Payroll Specialist position:

 

DEC in Administration or any combination of experience and academic background relevant to the position will be considered.  

5 to 10 years of relevant experience.

Member of the Canadian Payroll Association (an asset).

Demonstrates an interest in the development and implementation of control and reporting practices.

Good knowledge of the laws, principles, practices and procedures related to the position.

Fluency in both languages (French and English), both oral and written.

Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Good analytical, problem-solving skills.

Ability to work to deadlines and adapt to change.

Proactive approach.

Work performed in an office environment.

Telework and on-site alternation.

Sensory attentions required on a regular basis.

The work schedule requires flexibility depending on the projects in progress.
