HDSC utilizes IQVIA’s High-Performance Platform Infrastructure comprised of many big data technologies including Hadoop, Data Science Tools, containerization/orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, Mesophere/DCOS, Triton, as well as many other cutting-edge technologies.   HDSC operates in one of the world’s largest on-premise, private cloud infrastructures, as well as public clouds and we are expanding this global resource aggressively. 


What you’ll do:

You will join a team of highly talented Architects, Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Managers and Sales teams that evaluate client needs and applications for the HDSC API Marketplace and deliver API solution options for the digital healthcare developer community.  You will work with product managers, development teams, and data scientists to understand functional and technical specifications and synthesize those requirements into comprehensive user stories that can deliver incremental stakeholder value and realize the vision of the marketplace. Your primary focus will be to understand and deliver on all aspects to operationalizing a digital healthcare focused API Marketplace with a secondary focus on executing on the API roadmap and communicating the ongoing roadmap value streams and supporting technologies to both IQVIA executive leadership and external partners.

Required Experience:

- Experience in creating modern data management, data warehousing, and data integration

- Experience with API lifecycle management

- Concepts in modern data science approaches and platforms

- Experience with scripting and programming (i.e. Python, Scala, Java, Bash/Shell)

- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Containerization

- Experience with leading API hosting platforms like AWS Marketplace or Rapid API

- Familiarity of public IaaS in support of MLOPs and API management (I.e. SageMaker, AWS API Gateway, EKS on AWS for example

- Experience with Linux, AIX, or other Unix flavors

- GTM strategy on APIs for commercial/public consumption also a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Become team SME on Data Science platform infrastructure and systems for cloud managed tools and solutions
  • Become a SME in leading API technologies and provide guidance to hosting teams on best practices for API development and hosting
  • Assess new initiatives and technologies to determine the work effort and estimate the necessary time-to-completion
  • Working with product managers to distill AI/ML driven product offerings into API marketplace candidates
  • Partner with the business units to develop effective solutions that solve business challenges


The ideal candidate will have:

  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science or related or 10+ years relative working experience
  • 5+ years’ experience working in Agile SDLC
  • 3+ years of object-oriented programming experience in a high-level language like Python, Java, Scala
  • Familiarity with data science concepts and modeling techniques
  • Understanding ML development lifecycle and deployment/orchestration options, including tooling
  • Understanding of API Technologies like REST, JSON
  • Understanding of the API Management lifecycle
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and MuleSoft desired
  • Great project management skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Understanding of Life Sciences or Healthcare industries
  • Desire to learn new things
  • Great teamwork, communication and collaboration skills
