Research Assistant We are seeking a Formulations Technician for a part-time fixed-term position at our Discovery site located in KUOPIO.

This position consists of performing technical tasks and basic formulation procedures in support of non-clinical client studies consistent with study protocols, SOPs and any applicable regulations under direct supervision and recording data in compliance with company policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements.

The following are responsibilities related to the position:

• Participate in the receipt, handling, use and disposition of test articles, drugs and reagents for use in studies

• Prepare test article formulations for dosing in accordance with the detailed instructions that have been prepared by the Formulation specialist

o Calculate basic mathematical calculations related to preparations

o Perform standardized preparation procedures of test article dosage solution/suspension(s) using various equipment such as automatic pipettors, balance, pH meter, homogenizer, bath/probe sonicator and handle samples and preparations under the laminar flow hood using an aseptic method

o Complete documentation for the use of all test articles and vehicles/reagents to ensure consistency and correctness

o Prepare labels and samples

• Maintain cleanliness and general order of the laboratory, ensure the laboratory is stocked and assist in maintaining current inventory of reagents, test articles, vehicles, and samples

• Perform all other related duties as assigned

The following are minimum qualifications related to the position:

• Education: Laboratory Technologist (Vocational Qualification in Laboratory Technology) or equivalent

• Experience: 1-2 year experience in chemistry laboratory setting or related discipline

• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above

• Fluency in Finnish both in speaking and writing is required with good communication skills in English

• Other: Be attentive to detail, possess strong organizational skills and accurate record keeping competencies. A mathematical aptitude is required.

• Possess good communication and team-working skills

• Be flexible in work schedule, be available to work on weekends
