Engagement Manager, Scientific Network Insights

RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Responsible for leading KOL identification projects using our scientific network insights methodology which includes analysis of medical publications, clinical trials, conference presentations, and professional organizations.
  • Will serve as the “channel captain” for the scientific network insight offering within the team, continuously improving our analytics methodologies, processes and approaches, as well as staying abreast of competitive developments to ensure that the team is offering differentiated value to our clients in this area.
  • Must possess strong medical training that supports their ability to develop search strategies for publication, organization, conference presentation, and clinical trial analytics. 
  • Search strategy development will include development of a comprehensive list of keywords (NOTE: Keywords enhance the search process by enabling clients understanding specific areas of author expertise and contribution to the literature at the keyword, as well as, category levels.)
  • Must possess advanced experience and expertise developing disease specific queries in PubMed.  Familiarity with ClinicalTrials.gov and Congress databases also critical.
  • Will act as the primary and “lead” person for this function and must, therefore, have the maturity, experience, and organizational project management skills to act independently and effectively.
  • Interfaces regularly and coordinates with the technical team that programs and conducts searches against various medical databases (e.g., PubMed, ClinicalTrial.gov., etc.).  As such, should be comfortable with data integration, analysis and scoring across complementary datasets (e.g., pub, org, conference, peer nomination, etc.)
  • Plays a leadership role interfacing and directing external data search activities provided by our offshore team(s) for organizational & conference analytics, as well as in-depth leader profile generation.
  • Will typically have multiple projects at various stages of completion that are underway simultaneously. Organization and workflow tracking are critical to the job.

REQUIREMENTS & DESIRED ATTRIBUTES:

  • 3-5+ years of work experience in the area of Medical Science Analytics
  • Advanced degree related to medical science analytics (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, NP, PA)
  • Demonstrated experience and high degree of familiarity using and analyzing medical databases (e.g., PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov, Conference data, other online medical data sources, etc.)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in medical and disease related terminology; ability to apply this expertise across multiple therapeutic areas
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience in areas related to bioinformatics and/or medical science analytics highly desirable
  • Analytical and strategic mindset (beyond task orientation)
  • Proven ability and desire to work independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in basic supporting software; strong PowerPoint, Excel skills

DETAILED REVIEW of JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Spearhead Generation of Strategic Proposal/SOW/Analytics Plan Development – Develop project plans to meet prospective client objectives using the following methodologies:

  • Clinical Trials Analysis
  • Conference Analysis
  • Journal Profiling
  • Leader Profiling
  • Medical Center Profiling and Org Charts
  • Patient and Professional Organization Profiling
  • Payer Organization and Profiling
  • Publication (Bibliometric) Analysis

Lead Client Interaction and Presentation – Serve as the key point of client interaction for all client teleconferences and meetings related to the scientific network insights offering.

  • Manage all pre-meeting preparation and meeting follow up
  • Create strategic plans for all interactions – agendas, objectives, materials, etc.
  • Coordinate team participation and involvement

Oversee Data Collection and Integration – Work closely with various teams to ensure data collection and integration happen in accordance with the project strategy, plan, and target deliverables across methodologies

  • Create templates and manage requests to vendors
  • Review, edit, and supplement vendor deliverables
  • Prepare individual spreadsheet deliverables for each methodology and integrated files with leaders of complementary methodologies
  • Perform look ups of key leaders across methodologies to ensure accuracy and relevance of recommendations

Head Data Analysisand Presentation – Analyze component data to develop an understanding of each methodology landscape and the leaders within it, including thresholds for “leadership” within each

  • Integrate and pressure test the data sets to identify individuals inhabiting multiple leadership domains
  • Play lead role in collaboration with strategic and technology stakeholders at client in the development of data-based algorithms that support leader segmentation and effective engagement strategy development
  • Tailor integrated data cuts to highlight data suited to client needs
  • Develop a customized scoring and weighting system to favor components important to the client
  • Elevate key findings through visualizations and other tools in presentation format
  • Present result to client (by phone or in person)
