Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and driven to join our team at IQVIA Belgium. As a , your primary responsibility will be to support and assist in the coordination and execution of local Accounting activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with limited professional experience in accounting to develop their skills and grow within our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in month-end and quarter-end closing activities, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
- Perform account analysis and reconciliation to verify the accuracy of financial data and account balances.
- Collaborate with offshore/onshore Shared Services to ensure smooth coordination of accounting processes.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations, ensuring any discrepancies are identified and resolved.
- Analyse and interpret financial information, ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Work closely with internal departments to gather, analyse, and interpret relevant financial information.
- Enter financial data such as accruals, deferrals, and reclassifications into the ledger, and prepare reports as required.
- Maintain proper documentation and perform recordkeeping for all accounting activities.
- Adhere to internal controls and compliance measures, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) controls, in a timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation of external and internal audit files, as well as annual accounts.
- Prepare and file VAT declarations and surveys.
- Support in the preparation of TAX declarations and forms.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements and system enhancements.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
Requirements:
- A University or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related subject area is preferred.
- 1 to 2 years of professional experience within an accounting team is a plus.
- Familiarity with Belgian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (BE GAAP).
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in SAP and/or Peoplesoft is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles, including statutory and international standards.
- Ability to thrive in a complex and dynamic work environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PC Tools, including MS Excel and MS Word.
- Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities.
- Fluency in written and spoken in Dutch or French, and a good working understanding of the other national language.
- A good level of English (written and spoken) will be crucial to perform efficiently in the role.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently, while also being a team player.
