Position Summary:

Responsible for daily operations, system checks, PMs, and repairs of utilities equipment and processes to prevent unscheduled downtime, along with daily communication with Engineering Management to accomplish proper maintenance priorities.  The Sr Building Maintenance Technician will be responsible for documenting all work in CMMS and equipment logbooks.  Participates in the “On-Call” duties of providing 24/7 Maintenance support. This role will be day shift M-F (7:00AM-3:30PM) On-Site.

Essential functions:

Perform daily system checks and adjustments on critical production utilities, including steam, RO water, compressed air and HVAC systems.  Perform routine PMs and submit WOs on all utility systems.  Identify and implement improvements on all utility systems between operation and maintenance needs.  Use equipment manual and documentation to troubleshoot, tune, and find part numbers to make repairs—the ability to install and calibrate temperature controllers/recorders.  Walk and stand up to 4 hours at a time, up to 8 hours a day, with frequent squatting, stooping, kneeling, bending, twisting at the waist, and climbing ladders—the ability to lift 50 lbs to a height of 4 feet.  Possess the ability to perform the physical requirements of the assigned job as identified by the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) with or without reasonable accommodations.  General physical requirements include lifting, standing, climbing, and hand manipulations.  Perform all duties per GMP guidelines, adhere to all relative SOP, and perform all work activities safely.  Arrive to work on time and work during scheduled work hours, working additional overtime as needed.  Report any actual or potential safety hazards to management.  In addition, other duties may be assigned as needed.

Skills, abilities, and qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Possess vocational-technical or at least three years of related job experience.
  • Possess previous process control and various piping system experience.
  • Possess basic knowledge of electronics, strong troubleshooting abilities, and the ability to read blueprints.
  • Possess basic knowledge of utility systems within a regulated industry.  Trained in formal problem-solving techniques and computer skills.  Experience with most of the following unit operations or technologies: 
  • Ability to aseptically gown and/or sterile gown as needed. 
  • BMS (Building Management System) 
  • CMMS (OneMaximo)
  • Practical knowledge of GMP’s and working in an SOP environment 
  • Basic oral and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently. 
  • Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed to maintain facilities and process equipment. 

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $26.20 - $39.30.
