Thermo Fisher Scientific’s is looking for someone with strong project management, financial, and cross-functional skills to support our equipment, automation and facilities buildout capital investments and implementation activities. Successful candidates will have a proven track record of leading and developing engineering project managers and will be comfortable supporting large and complex projects from engineering concept through commissioning.

In addtion this individual will lead and manage asset management programs within our Biological Sciences Division. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in optimizing our asset performance, ensuring compliance with quality regulations, and driving a culture of continuous improvement across our global manufacturing sites, all in accordance with ISO55000 standards.

Core PMO Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a growing engineering project management team developing and driving program standards, compliance controls, and governance across divisions and US improving accountability
  • Coach team to execution of project portfolio across division maximizing investment value
  • Balance project risk and uncertainty through risk management and mitigation plans.
  • Develop financial business models to understand the total cost of ownership and revenue generation to support capital investment decisions
  • Proven track record of delivering large complex engineering projects on time, on budget and within scope

Core Program Management of assets:

  • Responsible for ownership of vendor running asset management of two sites. Vendor has existing optimization built to support two sites.
  • Responsible for asset management programs across two manufacturing sites, ensuring consistency, effectiveness, and compliance with quality regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving quality regulation requirements in the biological sciences industry.
  • Ensure that asset management programs meet or exceed all relevant regulatory standards.
  • Identify and assess risks associated with asset management and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Implement risk-based asset management approaches to optimize asset performance while minimizing operational and financial risks.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the division, driving innovation and efficiency in asset management practices.
  • Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles and predictive maintenance strategies.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Establish key performance indicators and metrics to track performance.
  • Regularly report on project and program performance to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and MBA degree in engineering or related field preferred but not required
  • 10+ years of demonstrated large capital project experience in complex manufacturing and automation assembly, manufacturing, and testing
  • A proven track record of cost reduction and productivity improvements.
  • Ability to influence and drive change while building solid relationships with our businesses and vendors
  • Experience with ISO55000, ISO 9001, 13485 and/or GMP, preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement process, system, and structure in a fast pace complex environment
  • Demonstrated ability to translate tactical business plans into strategic and operational plans
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across diverse geographical locations.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Certified Asset Management Professional (CAMP) or similar certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in asset management, preferably in a global manufacturing or regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with quality regulations in the biological sciences sector is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with asset management software and technology, such as IBM’s Maximo, Blue Mountain, Infor is a plus.
  • 8 years of related experience

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $143,000.00–$238,300.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
