Location/Division Specific Information

This position will be located at our St. Louis, MO location and this position and the local Human Resources team support the Biologics and Bioprocess Sciences businesses located at the site. These businesses are part of our Pharmaceutical Services Group (PSG).  The location has a current population of approximately 950 colleagues. 

Discover Impactful Work:

The Site HR Director is a key member of the site leadership team and is responsible for translating business and site strategy into HR strategy, plans and solutions. The role will partner with the site to hire, engage, and develop talent to build the organizational capabilities required for short and long-term success. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience building HR teams and driving HR operational excellence in a multifaceted and regulated business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop HR strategy, solutions and strategic workforce plans that align to the business
  • Implements HR processes: Human Resources Review (talent reviews and succession planning), Performance Management and Development (PMD), etc., within a matrix organization.
  • Develops robust talent management plans and drives initiatives by partnering with site managers to attract, retain, develop, and engage talent in critical roles
  • Leads, develops, and mentors a team of HR professionals on all site HR services delivered. Understands and communicates key performance indicators the team is responsible for delivering.
  • Build and drive a culture of employee engagement to improve business performance and efficiency.
  • Ensures appropriate communications, training and change management programs are carried out to successfully deploy new and/or expanded HR services and processes and drive leader standard work.
  • Counsel and/or coach employees and managers regarding employee relations issues including performance management, facilitation of formal/informal complaints to resolution, disciplinary action and/or terminations in line with company policies and legal practices.
  • Champions a One Team HR approach by collaborating with Talent, Compensation, Benefits and Human Resources Business Partners to drive continuous improvement of our colleague experience and improve our employee value proposition.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field. Masters preferred

Experience

Generally, at least 10+ years of HR related experience in roles of increasing scope; 2+ years' experience leading an HR team preferred

  • Develop and lead new programs, models, standards, etc. for the site and/or business teams.
  • Is recognized as a functional expert within the assigned client groups and HR team.
  • Lead the HR strategy for the site / business teams
  • Expert knowledge of HR Structure and COE’s
  • Leads HR for a larger site or responsible for multiple sites/regions and leads an HR team.
  • Influences and aligns business decisions through advice and counsel with Sr. level leaders and cross-functional partners
  • Routinely makes decisions based on limited information and manages risks that come with moving forward when outcomes are uncertain.
