Discover Impactful Work:

As the Director of Project Management - Query Operations you will be a key member of our epidemiology department and responsible for ensuring successful day-to-day project management of scientific queries, safety deliverables, scientific publications and associated financial tracking and documentation.  This is a pivotal role in transforming scientific operations related to the conduct and delivery of scientific deliverables. 

A day in the Life:

  • As a leader within the Epi and Biostat departments, you will serve as the primary point of contact on administrative and operational matters including budgeting, on time delivery, and contracting
  • Lead efforts to create operational efficiencies, leveraging team member feedback and various software systems, including ERP (enterprise resource planning) and project management software to improve processes
  • Collaborate with the financial team in the development and implementation of a comprehensive forecasting process (including revenue forecasting, resource utilization and prioritization of resources) that leverages the ERP
  • Provide leadership, oversight and guidance to direct reports on budgets, financial deliverables, statements of work and planning/prioritization
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, issues, and success metrics, communicating across all organizational levels, including leadership
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients as necessary to provide insights on operations, budgets, scope changes, revenue or other aspects of the work
  • Manage and develop a team of Project Managers and Project Coordinators who are responsible for project lifecycle, from creation to close

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, MS a strong plus.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of project management experience within a research setting.   

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent problem solving, project planning and time management skills in addition to proven ability to drive process improvement efforts
  • Demonstrated change agent with the ability to lead through influence, build alignment and collaborate with various stakeholders to drive open items to effective resolution
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects
  • Strong people management skills that includes an innate ability to inspire team members and build a team culture that aligns with company values. 
  • Must have a vested interest in mentoring, training and developing direct reports for future growth opportunities.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented with exceptional interpersonal skills and  ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong internal and client-facing written and verbal communication skills
  • Position requires a strong working knowledge of MS Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, MS Project, and SharePoint
