We are seeking a highly motivated Business Manager to join our team in Lengnau at our leading Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) specializing in biologics drug substance production. The Business Manager will play a crucial role in driving the growth and success of our biologics drug substance business.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, actively prospecting and generating leads, building positive relationships with clients, and presenting our capabilities and services.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, understanding their needs, ensuring happiness with our services, and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Lead all aspects of the execution of biologics drug substance projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and cost targets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project execution.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and new technologies in the biologics drug substance CDMO space. Conduct market analysis for potential expansion or diversification.
  • Supply to the development and implementation of strategic plans
  • Lead contract discussions, ensuring mutually effective agreements that align with company goals. Collaborate with legal and finance teams for compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Supervise financial performance, including revenue forecasting, budgeting, and cost control. Find opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth.
  • Further professional growth and engagement of team members, promoting their satisfaction.

Your Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or business-related field. Advanced degree (MBA, PhD) preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the biopharmaceutical industry, specifically in the biologics drug substance CDMO segment.
  • Strong understanding of biologics drug substance development and manufacturing processes, including knowledge of regulations and industry standards.
  • Track record of efficiently identifying and closing new business deals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building positive relationships with collaborators.
  • Strong project management skills, prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strategic approach, analyzing market trends and developing business strategies accordingly.
  • Financial competence, analyzing financial data, developing budgets, and supervising performance indicators.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, empowering a complementary team of professionals.
