The Position

The NanoPort Team is responsible for providing technical and scientific expertise in the support of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Global sales efforts. We will support the customer in-person at their lab, and by remote support station, phone and email, serving as a trusted advisor.

This customer focused position is ideal for an experienced Electron Microscopist wanting to be involved with a dynamic team and exposed to a constant variety of customer application areas.

Responsibilities:

• Perform product demonstrations at customer or NanoPort sites
• Take care of TEM tools in Nanoport
• Deliver on-site and remote scientific application support & training support to our customers on our leading TEM products
• Diagnose & resolve product performance problems and customer queries/complaints
• Work with sales representatives on sales calls to give technical and applications assistance in response to customer inquiries
• Assist the regional sales team in the development of accounts by giving technical seminars and presentations that promote the use of our products
• Maintain up-to-date technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of our product portfolio and scientific developments in TEM and related subjects
• Build trust with our customers and excel in customer service

Requirements:

• Masters Degree in life science, applied structure biology or similar (PhD preferred)
• More than 2 years experience in TEM related to Structure Biology
• Experience in presenting technical materials in written and verbal form
• Good knowledge on Cryo-TEM: Single particle analysis, Micro-Electron Diffraction or Cryo-tomography.
• Experience in Thermo Scientific Cryo-TEM, Tecnai/Talos/Titan/Glacios/Krios (EPU, Tomo, TIA, Velox )
• Familiar with data processing (Relion, Cryosparc, eTomo)
• Customer-facing experience, with good interpersonal skills to understand customer concerns
• Able to connect with and support people effectively with varying levels of technical knowledge and expertise
• Good digital literacy and have an interest for groundbreaking technology
• Willingness to travel extensively (up to 60%)
• Proficient in English
