Position Summary:

In order to support the growth of our Cell Therapy R&D team, we are seeking an R&D Manager who is able to leave the deep scientific discussion to the competent scientists in the team, and rather be a mentor and role model for the team members and be able to bring the best out of scientists. Together with our other R&D Managers, you will be fostering a team-centric culture that embodies our core values of trust, open communication, and constructive feedback, where everyone is pulling together towards the same goal.

What will you do?

As an R&D Manager, you will manage several direct reports, but you will also join a managerial team that have the overall responsibility for all the scientists and activities in the Cell Therapy R&D department.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work in a manager team responsible for all the R&D Cell Therapy department team activities.
  • Main responsibility for 6-12 scientists which includes ensuring their well-being and personal development as well as ensuring that their day-to-day activities are aligning with the department plans and business priorities.
  • Hire and retain a diverse, highly qualified staff and nurture a successful team delivering innovative technologies.
  • Set and manage the execution of goals through coaching and mentoring while maintaining a safe and professional work environment.
  • Ensure that the team is trained and working in compliance with our Quality Management System and the appropriate regulations.
  • Drive development and implementation of effective working processes and continuously focus on removing execution barriers.
  • Contribute to resource management of R&D in collaborative projects.

Qualifications:
  • MSc within the area of Life Sciences with 8 years’ experience or PhD + 4 years of experience from roles in the pharma or biotech industry, preferably within medical device or pharmaceutical-related field.
  • Proven leadership skills with a focus on people management, setting goals, providing positive and constructive feedback, and building positive relationships and successful teams.
  • Previous experience from RD, QC, analytics, or other relevant functions that operate under a Quality Management System.
