Information Security Manager, Disaster Recovery

The Information Security Manager, Disaster Recovery is a key role within the global Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Team.  The individual fulfilling this role will provide support to the business in developing and updating their disaster recovery plans, assist in periodic test exercises of the approved plans, and facilitate business impact assessments. They will take a crucial role in crisis management and prepare impact assessments of such events working closely with local management.

They will also work together with other members of the IQVIA Information Security team, and liaising regularly with other management teams at IQVIA, including CIO organization, Global and Regional Business Units, and Corporate Functions. Principal responsibilities will include:

  • Support in the development and annual update of disaster recovery plans, ensuring that plans are approved and reviewed in a timely manner
  • Schedule, prepare and coordinate execution of Disaster Recovery tests for all core IQVIA Data Center facilities on an approved periodic basis
  • Provide guidance and support to the other Disaster Recovery plan owners across IQVIA in scheduling and undertaking periodic test exercises of approved plans and help prepare relevant documentation
  • Facilitate business impact analysis workshops across the organization to ensure all key processes, facilities and systems have disaster recovery plans
  • Coordinate and ensure facility disaster recovery plans are tested on an approved periodic basis as required by the established company policy and standards
  • Support local and global response to internal and external client questions and queries on IQVIA’s Disaster Recovery capabilities and status in relation to sales opportunities across the global organization
  • Develop and document operational procedures in relation to services delivered by the Global Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery team
  • Respond to adverse events that occur in the region and identify any impact on data or infrastructure assets and/or operational impact working closely with local management
  • Coordinate facility recovery in case of a disaster; declare disaster if needed
  • Monitor, track and provide key Disaster Recovery metrics and statistics for management
  • Ensure post-recovery after-action reviews are held, observations identified through them, and have owners assigned to corrective and preventative actions
  • Track corrective and preventative actions to completion and escalate if necessary
  • Implement new business continuity and disaster recovery software
  • Maintain and update content on the internal Sharepoint site for Global Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Approx. 7 or more years of professional experience in Disaster Recovery, Risk Management or other related area
  • Experience and commitment in delivering significant value to organization as a trusted advisor
  • Experience of participating in cross-functional collaboration
  • Self-starter and highly motivated
  • Experience working with senior management
  • High level of accountability and ability to execute; familiar with estimating and planning own work effort including recognizing and escalating risks and issues in relation to delivery; attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, excellent team player and collaborator
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • PC proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Project management experience a plus
  • Knowledge of and experience with ISO22301 standard or FDA regulation is a plus
  • This position requires some non-standard work hours to support global needs and on-call requirements to support an actual event
  • This position requires occasional domestic and international travel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field required
  • Professional certification in disaster recovery is desirable
  • Understanding of emergency preparedness, crisis communications and crisis management strategies
