As a Data Scientist on our team you have the opportunity to work with extremely complex data and methodologies in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment answering critical business questions. Combining modern analytic tools, methodologies, and challenging requests, this crucial role will help mold the way our team approaches analysis and builds data-driven analytics products. You will also have the opportunity to provide mentorship to the team and serve as a key liaison for our team with the client account team.

Role Purpose

  • Engage with our pharmacy retailer partners to solve business challenges and identify relevant opportunities by developing, managing and delivering advanced analytics solutions.  The role involves components of:
    • Analytic development & innovation
    • Insight identification, presentation & communication
    • Supplier support & interaction

Role Responsibilities

  • Partner with pharmacy retailers and their IQVIA account teams to identify analytical and technical solutions, including appropriate data assets,  statistical / machine learning models, algorithms and visualizations, that guide direct business transformation (analytical approaches that may be used include optimization, simulation, regression, mixed models, classification models, pattern recognition, machine learning, and deep learning).
  • Design and implement stable, scalable and cost-effective data-centric solutions to complex business problems where analysis requires an in-depth knowledge of pharmacy retailer organizational objectives and data science domain expertise.
  • Clear and concise articulation, presentation, and documentation of analytic and technical opportunities, constraints, recommendations, and action items to both internal and external senior management audiences
  • Research and analyze market landscapes and emerging platforms, patterns, practices, and methodologies to drive differentiated service offerings for clients and foster greater professional development opportunities for internal talent
  • Build expertise in cross-platform applications of IQVIA assets with a specialization in encrypted patient-level longitudinal healthcare claims data
  • Proactively manage own project timelines, risks and challenges and work out mitigation alternatives with the team under minimum supervision

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, IT, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or another related field with 8+ years relevant experience and a strong focus on data science and quantitative analysis or Bachelor’s with 12+ years equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable consulting, analytical, interpretative, and problem-solving skills and proven ability to develop innovative approaches through creativity and critical thinking
  • Advanced use of statistical programming languages (SQL, R, Python, SAS) to manipulate data and build statistical and machine learning models
  • Knowledge and experience with statistical and data mining concepts including multivariate analysis, significance testing, regression, decision trees, clustering, forecasting, sampling, propensity matching, scenario analysis, simulation, advanced modeling and machine learning techniques
  • Excellent understanding of handling Big Data along with a drive to learn and master new techniques and technologies
  • Working knowledge of large-scale distributed data/computing tools such as Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Spark, etc.
  • Demonstrable analytical, interpretative and problem-solving skills and proven ability to develop innovative approaches
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical market and experience with encrypted patient-level/longitudinal healthcare claims
  • Strong organization and project planning skills, ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously while achieving quality standards and meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge of data reporting/manipulation and business intelligence tools such as RapidMiner, Spotfire, and/or Tableau
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, detail-oriented, and ability to work collaboratively across teams

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $119,400.00 - $203,100.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
