The job:

Discover impactful work as an Inside Sales Representative in our Biosciences sales team where you will be responsible for the sales of scientific research products and services within your territory.

As Inside Sales Representative you will build effective customer relationships via the phone, email and social media, developing sales opportunities within our existing customer base, ensuring market penetration and profitability, and achieving sales and profit forecasts.

This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic professional who is looking to grow their experience in Sales with a company that is a world leader in their industry.  This role would ideally suit a recent life science graduate with some sales or customer-facing experience wanting to establish themselves in a global company.

The role will be primarily office-based at our Merelbeke, Belgium office.  You will also be encouraged to visit customers in person (c. 20% of working time).  You'll be part of our BeNeLux Sales team, with customers in Belgium and The Netherlands.

What will you do?

  • Identify sales opportunities with new and existing customers and successfully manage the sales of company products and services to achieve or exceed the assigned territory sales plan
  • Connect with research scientists at all accounts to discover their needs, share product information and create sales presentations
  • Maintain and increase current customer database through Company customer relationship management software (SalesForce CRM) and coordinate sales processes for assigned accounts within your sales territory
  • Manage and close sales leads generated by colleagues in Marketing and Technical Support teams
  • Regularly provide written and verbal communication of successes and failures to improve the overall operating efficiency of the team, region and sales organization
  • Participate in sales, product and systems training, marketing campaigns and special projects as presented by the Company to develop appropriate selling skills consistent with Company philosophy, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate quotations within Company Guidelines by extending competitive pricing as needed to maintain and increase revenues with guidance from Management and/or Marketing
  • Provide sales forecast for assigned territory to support business understanding

Who we are looking for:

  • Degree in a science related subject
  • Previous sales experience preferred (any industry or capacity)
  • Excellent communications skills and confident presentation skills
  • Advanced level of English & Dutch (both essential)
  • Good attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites across Belgium & The Netherlands (up to 20% of working time and may include some overnight stays)
  • Valid driving licence
