The Role: Commercial Legal Counsel (Hybrid) - Dublin, Ireland or Sofia, Bulgaria

 To be successful in the role, you will have:

Summary: 

To support and advise ICON’s Large Pharma, Biotech and Procurement groups with all aspects of legal relationships with clients and vendors, particularly in the negotiation of master services agreements. To provide commercially focused, concise, actionable legal advice to business stakeholders on a broad range of legal issues including in relation to contract, tort, corporate, data protection, litigation, and compliance.  To play a key role along with the rest of the Large Pharma, Biotech and Procurement legal team in optimizing team processes and procedures, improving standard templates and gathering and maintaining the latest team knowhow. 

Job Responsibilities:

•    Negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts (e.g.  master, standalone and start up services agreements, software licensing agreements, confidentiality agreements, data privacy agreements, work orders & change orders);•    Advise on a wide range of legal issues including in relation to contract, tort, corporate, data protection, litigation, compliance and regulatory that arise in the day to day operation of the business;•    Manage various legal projects to completion in an efficient and effective manner and liaise with internal stakeholders in the business for input and support in such projects;•    The employee is expected to recognize the importance of and embrace a culture of continuous process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes, adding value to our business and meeting client needs;•    To be collegiate and supportive in the sharing of knowhow developed and gathered in the course of the role;•    Manage and prioritize workload in relation to timelines and client submissions;•    Travel (approximately 10%) domestic and/or international;•    Engage and liaise with external counsel (managing and minimizing costs to the extent possible);•    Undertake other reasonably related duties (including administrative tasks) as may be assigned from time to time.

What you need:   

•    Qualified lawyer with 2-5 years in commercial contract negotiations preferably in an in-house role (within the Pharmaceutical/CRO/Biotech/Medical Device industry or a multi-national organization) or a leading commercial law firm. Previous experience in commercial law and/or commercial contracts essential (in a commercial law firm or a leading multinational);•    Ability to independently evaluate complex legal issues and to provide commercially focused pragmatic solutions in simple language to the business, both orally and in writing;•    Ability to synthesize large volumes of information and present concise commercial conclusions and recommendations to business stakeholders at all levels tactfully.•    Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly assess potential for risk and opportunity;•    Proven team player with demonstrated teamwork, analytical and consultation skills;•    Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships across  business functions across varying levels of seniority;•    Strong influencing style, articulate and confident;•    Self-starter with the ability to work under their own initiative with a very strong work ethic;•    Excellent attention to detail with excellent drafting skills;•    Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and/or tight timelines in a fluid/fast-paced, highly collaborative, team environment;•    Very strong working knowledge of PC Applications (Excel, Microsoft Word, Windows, etc.).Benefits of Working in ICON:
