Role & Responsibilities:
  • Apply cost methodologies, software models, and tools to accurately prepare and maintain data.
  • You would use Should cost data to help the Design engineering team to embrace design to cost approach.
  • You will work with sourcing team to analyze the cost break up from vendor and perform detailed gap analysis between Costing and quote.
  • Perform cost benefit analysis and finalize annualized savings for given project. Evaluate and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and reliability factors.
  • Suggest and help vendors understand the alternative manufacturing processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in cost estimation methodologies and processes.
  • Perform all job duties consistent with the Code of Ethics, Diversity and Inclusion, and the 4-I Values.

Skills and Proficiencies:
  • Bachelor’s degree in, Mechanical engineering / Automobile / Mechatronics.
  • 8+ years overall work experience in Should cost Analysis and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Should have experience for should cost for various mechanical commodity like Machining, Sheet Metal, Casting, Forging and Composites, Plastics, Rubber, Metal Injection Molding, Surface Treatments, Packaging etc.
  • Understanding of GD&T standards for accurate application. Able to explain to suppliers how to interpret.
  • Perform technical Calculations on parts and simple assemblies.
  • Sound Knowledge on Surface Treatment, coatings, and Surface finish methods.
  • Knowledge on costing tools Apriori/ DFMA/Costimator/ NPV/ TCO.
  • Solid Understanding on CAD Tools SolidWorks / Creo / AutoCAD.
  • Able to solve problems creatively and analytically with a strong attention to detail.
