The schedule for this position will be: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday 9:30AM - 6:00PM

*Florida State Clinical Laboratory Technician license is required*

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Establishing cultures of peripheral blood, amniotic fluid, CVS samples, products of conception, bone marrow, skin biopsy and tumor tissue.
  • Monitoring the progress of cell culture and feeding cells.
  • Knowing the appropriate time for harvesting and performing harvesting.
  • Slide preparation and banding techniques.
  • Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) Procedures.
  • Catalogues and files all slides to be used as part of the patient's medical records.
  • Performs other general lab duties as required.
  • Follows proper safety procedures when performing all laboratory duties.
  • Maintains records of all work performed.
  • Identifies records of all work performed
  • Performs and documents preventative and corrective equipment maintenance, and ensures equipment function properly.

Requirements:

  • Associate's or higher degree in biological, chemical and/or medical science from an accredited college or university
  • Florida state Clinical Laboratory Technician license is required
  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years of pertinent experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technician
  • ASCP or AMT certification is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus
  • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
