The Senior Director of Business Development will be responsible for developing and fostering relationships with key decision-makers at biotechnological and pharmaceutical companies with complementary development pipelines to secure business opportunities for INC Research, Inc. in an assigned geographical location. Additionally, the Senior Director will assist in mentoring Directors and Associate Directors within the Business Development team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.From analyzing industry activity, develops annual business plan for specific market segments and assigned accounts.Participates with management in the development and implementation of the sales plan which will include forecasting territory sales and activity objectives.Reviews annual business plan on a quarterly basis to determine where adjustments may be required.

2.Plans and implements monthly objectives of the sales action plan, including budgeting of time and resources, and communicates with staff, as appropriate, to achieve sales action goals and objectives.

3.Develops account strategies for all appropriate clients.Anticipates and identifies client challenges, real and perceived, that may evolve from time to time and partners with the appropriate operations team leader to provide solutions in accordance with INC Research policies and procedures.

4.Maintains up-to-date and accurate records within the salesforce.com database, for accounts (active and targeted) within geographic territory. This includes items such as account profiles, individual contact details, opportunities and communications.

5.Maintains current professional level of knowledge in Central Nervous System, Oncology, Pediatrics and Data Management information to serve as a basis for providing “value added” expanded INC Research services to all appropriate clients.

6.Participates in weekly updates to management and the Business Development team of new activities in the assigned territory, with urgent and important issues being shared with management as they arise.

7.Actively participates at professional meetings and conventions as appropriate.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs other work-related duties as assigned.Moderate travel may be required (up to 50%).

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

·Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred.

·Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the healthcare industry in a sale, marketing, commercial operations and/or BD capacity. Experience in a selling capacity to pharmaceutical industry sales/marketing or operations decision markers, preferred.

·Proven track record to manage multiple selling strategies and approaches to market.

·Action oriented and results driven - moves quickly and with purpose and has relevant experience in a B2B, consultative sales environment.

·Ability to work independently to achieve timelines specific RFPs, customer presentations, and client deliverables however willing to work collaboratively in a team environment in the best interest of the customer.

·High level of honesty and integrity with a strong work ethic and proactive thought leadership.

·Ability to maintain energy and entrepreneurial approach/thinking.

·Ability to thrive in a fast paced, agile environment.

·Excited and passionate about the company story/mission/values.

·Commitment to work collaboratively and cross functionally.

The annual base salary for this position rangesfrom $140,000 to $205,000.The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position.  Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
