Job DescriptionAt our site in Eindhoven we develop and produce our high end Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM). It takes a year to get our high end systems build and tested before we can ship it to our customers. Most of these microscopes are customer specific. On top of that, innovations take place in a fast pace which makes the supply chain process complex and challenging. The supply base of MSD plays a critical role in delivering innovative and competitive products to the market. As a Purchase Manager, you are responsible to improve and maintain the Operational performance of our suppliers. Together with your team you will work to provide a reliable and responsive supply base which delivers materials to the factory at the right moment, in the right quantity and quality against the lowest integral costs. The continuously increasing business demand and growth plans make this an exciting challenge.

What will you do?

  • Lead a team of buyers and purchasing professionals by providing guidance, coaching, and performance management to ensure their success and professional development
  • Focus on building a strong, flexible team to be able to cope with daily as well as long-term challenges and to support sustainable growth
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure timely material delivery with balanced inventory levels
  • Build positive relationships with suppliers to improve performance
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs
  • Monitor and manage logistics supplier performance to address any issues or concerns

How you will get here:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Experience in leading a team of people in a supply chain environment
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to work well with diverse teams and senior leaders
  • Problem-solving skills and experience in solving issues: analyzing problems, finding root-cause and come to effective solutions
  • Preferably experience in supplier account management

Personal Skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers
  • Have a pragmatic, proactive approach and build functional relationships
  • Having a strong analytical attitude in coping with details that need structure
  • Excellent English language skills (verbal and in writing), Dutch is a plus
  • Be a collaborative team-player. Searching for solutions and assuring a certain level of flexibility also under pressure will help making your job a success
