  • 환자는 18세 이상이어야 합니다.
  • 환자는 유방암 진단을 제외하고 최소 10년의 기대 수명을 가져야 합니다. (동반이환 상태 및 활동 상태는 고려되어야 하지만 유방암 진단은 고려되지 않습니다.)
  • 유방암 치료를 위한 마지막 수술(종양 절제술, 유방 절제술, 전초 림프절 생검, 겨드랑이 수술 또는 종괴 절제면 재절제)과 무작위화 사이의 간격은 84일을 넘지 않아야 합니다.
  • 종양은 조직학적 검사에서 침윤성 선암종이어야 합니다. (순수 관형 또는 점액성 선암종인 종양이 있는 환자는 자격이 없습니다.)
  • 원발성 종양은 임상 및 병리학적 평가에 의해 T1-3이어야 합니다.
  • 모든 액와 병기 절차에서 얻은 림프절은 AJCC(American Joint Committee on Cancer) 암 병기 매뉴얼 6판의 병리학적 병기 결정 기준에 따라 pN0이어야 합니다.
  • 환자는 겨드랑이 림프절 병기 결정 절차, 예를 들어 감시림프절(SN) 생검 단독, SN 생검 후 겨드랑이 샘플링 또는 완전 절개 또는 병리학적 평가를 위한 림프절을 얻기 위한 겨드랑이 림프절 절제술을 받아야 합니다. 환자에게 결절이 만져지면 겨드랑이 절개가 필요합니다.
  • 환자는 무작위 배정 전에 원발성 종양에 대해 에스트로겐 수용체(ER) 분석을 수행해야 합니다. ER이 음성이면 프로게스테론 수용체(PgR) 분석을 수행해야 합니다. ER이 양성이면 PgR 분석이 필요하지만 필수는 아닙니다. ("한계" 또는 "경계선" 결과[즉, 확실히 음성이 아닌 결과]는 사용된 방법론에 관계없이 양성으로 간주됩니다.)
  • 환자는 유방종양절제술 또는 전체 유방절제술을 받았어야 합니다.
  • 환자는 전이성 질환에 대한 임상적 또는 방사선학적 증거가 없어야 합니다.

    • 수술 후 절대 과립구 수(AGC)는 1500/mm3 이상이어야 합니다(또는 연구자의 의견에 따라 이것이 정상의 민족적 또는 인종적 변이를 나타내는 경우 1200/mm3 이상).
