Nurses play a critical role in healthcare delivery and are expected to possess strong interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, clinical competence, and professional adaptability.
Personality characteristics influence nurses' behaviour, coping abilities, communication, and leadership practices in clinical settings.
Leadership competencies are essential for effective teamwork, patient safety, service improvement, and organisational outcomes.
Continuous professional development and identification of training needs are equally important to ensure high-quality nursing care.
Assessing the training requirements of nurses helps healthcare organisations plan competency-based educational programmes and improve evidence-based practice.
This descriptive cross-sectional study aims to assess the personality type, leadership style, and training needs among nurses working at Sri Ramachandra Hospital and Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, Chennai.
Personality type will be assessed using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), leadership style will be assessed using the NHS Leadership Framework self-assessment tool, and training needs will be evaluated using the Hennessy-Hicks Training Needs AnalysisQuestionnaire.The findings of the study may help nurse administrators and educators to design targeted leadership development programmes and competency-based training interventions for nurses

Inclusion Criteria:
- Registered Nurses (RNRM) working in the various departments (Ward, ICU and ER).
- Having more than one year of experience.
- Willing to participate in the study.
- Involvement in leadership or supervisory roles.
Exclusion Criteria:
- Nurses on Vacation, medical leave or maternity leave

Personality type will be assessed using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), which categorises participants into 16 personality types based on four dichotomies: Extraversion-Introversion, Sensing-Intuition, Thinking-Feeling, and Judging-Perceiving
