Customer Strategy Analyst

The Customer Strategy Analyst in Access will be a vital member of the Access Business Development team, enabling and supporting the development of proposals and account plans. The individual highly motivated, able to work independently, and thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment.  Ideally, the candidate will have experience in researching drug assets and sponsors and in supporting proposal strategies for new business opportunities in a CRO or Service Consultancy/Agency.

The Business Development Analyst will focus on desk research and databases to support the client situation assessment and play an important role in proposal development. S/he works in partnership with the Business Development Sr Director and Manager as well as SMEs in Parexel Access Consulting.

Key Accountabilities

Proposal Research and Development:

  • Support Sr Dir, Manager and SMEs in researching leads (i.e. sponsors), their assets and positioning the Parexel Access solution appropriately for client needs.
  • Join client and Access team calls to ascertain client needs.
  • Leverage public sources and subscription databases, such as Citeline, Datamonitor, in developing an Access point of view for client discussions, proposals and bid defense discussions.
  • Work with Access SMEs and Service Line leads to capture solutions/ approach for proposals.

Proposal and Business Development Communications:

  • Ensure client responses reflect strategy discussions, meet client needs (relevance and appropriateness), offer consistent messaging, and convey value proposition and critical success factors
  • Support/participate in bid pursuit meetings as needed (e.g., drive thoughtful approach to content generation and Subject Matter Expert identification)

Account and Solutions Expansion:

  • Work with Acces Bus Dev Sr Director and Manager and Access to develop and drive content to assist in early engagement conversations and proposals
  • Maintain a strong consultative “outside-in”/One Parexel approach in developing unique business solutions for clients and in driving industry leadership
  • Maintain awareness of key competitors and industry trends to improve and evolve our Access and Commercial consulting offerings

Knowledge/Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Fluent English, verbal and written
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in a market access or life sciences Service Consultancy/Agency is required
  • Comfort with desk research and synthesis of findings
  • Some relevant knowledge of product development, or drug development (bench to patient)
  • "Make it happen" attitude, capable of thriving in a complex matrix environment with an ability to build strong cross functional relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to follow directions and prioritize workload; can collaborate with peers and work effectively in a team to achieve desired outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas in a simple, understandable, and compelling manner; basic understanding of commercial needs and objectives, with respect to supporting service proposal and pricing activities; proficient in MS Word and Powerpoint
