2. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinates and consolidates domestic systems to support shipments. Ensures lowest cost transportation by analyzing company and customer needs, researching transportation methods and auditing carrier costs and performances. Interprets laws, rules and regulations regarding shipping and prepares applications for import/export control certifications and licenses. Maintains logs and compiles information on routes, rates and services on various vendors.

Managing and evaluating 3PL vendors’ performance such as freight forwarders and transportation providers’:Supervising their performance and monitoring international transportation modeSetting KPI and metrics to ensure their SLADriving improvement opportunities and initiatives with the 3PL vendorsHolding performancIme review meetings such as monthly and quarterly business review.Analyzing and improving international transportation cost, lead-time, service levels and qualities, shipping schedules, and other relevant criteria.Manage weekly/monthly/quarterly dashboards/scorecard reporting of transportation spend and supporting metrics.Work with Freight Audit & Pay (FAP) provider to identify and report carrier billing errors such as where improper rates have been applied. Initiate and follow through on credit requests from carriers.Reliably manage weekly/monthly reports for: service, bi-weekly updates, monthly business reviews, staff meetings, etc.Develop new metrics to report and drive standard process methodology for evaluating cost, service and quality. Generate budget analysis and monthly reporting of operational and financial metrics.To Manage/improve process flow from factory pick up to delivery to destination DC to optimize lead-time and service.Tracking the shipment record, and improving PO transparency reports, in addition to the daily shipment reports from the various logistics vendors.Resolving issues and problems due to the transportation matter for both internal and external customers.Provide support in the investigation of internal/external customer complaints to find the root causes and advise appropriate solution to resolve them.For ensuring most appropriate lead-time, administrate and optimizing factory shipping requirements/SLAs and forwarder shipping schedules.To Ensure effective execution of corporate initiatives, programs, and directives in accordance with Thermo Fisher Scientific’s logistics sourcing strategy and financial plans.To keep flawless processes and manage shipment tracking, defect analysis, and exception.Setting valuable process to ensure consistent use of RCCMs (Root Cause Counter Measures) and PPI (Practical Process Improvement which Thermo Fisher adopt for improvement methodology).Additional assignments and tasks assigned by the Import/Export Manager or Import/Export team.
