Job Description

This position is focused primarily on glassware management aspects of Fisher Scientifics Unity Lab Services core offerings. Duties include: Glass washing, product put away, product disbursement, inventory delivery, and other basic inventory management activities. This position will apply the basic functionality of systems crafted to support inventory management and the Microsoft Office suite of programs. Customer interface communication skills are also required.
Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-4pm
Pay: $24-25/hr, depending on experience
*$265 Reimbursable Commuter Stipend
Responsibilities:
Collect & wash used/dirty glassware, (hand washing where required), drying, and restocking of clean glassware to designated storage locations
Ability to use and operate glass wash and autoclave machines
Report internal/external metrics to Site Supervisor/Sr. Manager
Stockroom management, dispensing of product, cycle counts and inventory counts
Perform on-site program replenishments and disbursements.
Perform stockroom duties to include receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, and other functions according to customer requirements.
Follow well defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOP’s & work instructions.
Take direction from Site Supervisor regarding daily duties.
Strong Communication of any customer issues or potential problems with Site Supervisor.
Use basic systems to support various inventory management systems.
Access & use Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ Intranet and SharePoint document management system.
Remove cardboard and trash as needed
Positively represent Vertex and Thermo Fisher Scientific
Complete other projects as assigned by management.

Must be Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check to include drug screening.
Education:
High School Diploma, or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor degree preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Ability to read, write and speak English
Ability to lift, push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
Computer literate and intermediate skills in Microsoft Office
Strong desire to serve customers, and the interpersonal skills to deal with various levels of personnel at
Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service
Maintain a professional appearance at all times
Proficient multi-tasking and time management skills
Ability to work in a team setting, share and prioritize projects
Working Conditions:
The role will work primarily in the Glass Wash area, stockrooms, storage locations and laboratory environments
Extensive walking is required
May pass through areas where chemical based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc.)
Required use of material handling equipment such as push carts
Depending on area of building, personal protective equipment must be worn, including lab coats, safety glasses, and gloves
Some areas may require steel toe shoes or bump hats
