Sr Manufacturing Technician

Swindon - Kingfisher Drive

Shift Pattern - 37.5 hours per week, same number of days each week

The main responsibilities of the Dispensary Technician role incorporate the day-to-day running of the dispensary activities to ensure the best possible service is maintained to both internal and external customers and aligns with GMP requirements and company rules, policies, and procedures. As part of the daily activity, the technician together with his team will have to weigh, dispense, and check raw materials with the assistance of a computer interface to ensure batches manufactured contain accurate materials and quantities.

Dispensing technician's tasks include but are not limited to:
  • Ensure all product is of the highest quality with all levels following cGMP, and all procedures and proficiencies are of the highest standard
  • Ensuring that Dispensary lead times are fulfilled
  • Monitors production readiness checking: raw materials and components inventory, materials approval status, and relevant manufacturing docs availability
  • Assembling, checking & recording goods for disposal maintaining a high standard of quality
  • Use of SAP and other Computer systems with regard to material movements.
  • Use of temperature monitoring systems.
  • Leading levels of storage for ambient and cold storage materials within the dispensary footprint.
  • Internally transfer of materials by forklift/hand trucks
  • To communicate transversally on site. This will include internal and customer, clients, and regulatory and compliance bodies.
  • Support of site quality and productivity metrics and other performance indicators.
  • Be prepared to attend training courses and learn new skills and procedures i.e. Deviation reporting, Temperature Monitoring, Data Integrity, EHS, etc.
  • Maintain complete and accurate standard operating procedures and support control documentation requirements (SOP/WI) where required.

Environmental, Health and Safety expectations:

Identify dispensary-specific circumstances requiring changes to the EHS program and enable the successful implementation at a local level. Understand emergency proceedings and align with safe systems of work.

  • Able to gown, wear PPE, and work effectively in a clean room environment
  • Ensure compliance with environment, health, and safety rules, signage, and instructions at all times.
  • Ensure timely reporting and investigation of all accidents, near misses, and breaches of rules.

Desired qualifications/Experience:

Previous experience in shipping, receiving, and general dispensing/ warehouse activities in an ISO9001 environment, including preparation of shipping and receiving documentation and data processing activities using ERP applications (SAP preferred).

  • Preferable but not essential to have previous pharmaceutical experience.  Cold chain experience would be advantageous.
  • Numerate and computer literate (SAP, MRP, Word, Excel, Facility monitoring systems, etc.).
  • Experience in participation in external audits and working face-to-face with Clients would be useful.
  • A forklift license would be effective, although full training will be provided as this is a requirement of the role.
  • Note that a criminal record check will be required on appointment considering Known Consignor Status approval.
