Job Description

Position Summary:

As part of the commercial finance organization, provide financial analysis and solutions to support commercial activities. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for reviewing, identifying, and implementing customer incentives for our contract customers
  • Apply PPI process to identify improvement areas for automation in customer incentives
  • Prepare and provide accurate and timely analyses that collect and communicate business results, variances, and performance trends and make recommendations to drive profitability
  • Work closely with business partners to identify and mitigate issues impeding the achievement of business goals
  • Collaborate with internal departments to implement pricing and financial terms for new customer contracts and ensure compliance with contract terms
  • Prepare customer pricing impact assessments
  • Assist with other contract activities such as annual price roll and pricing compliance

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate robust financial acuity in several areas including financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, internal control, and technical accounting knowledge
  • Exhibit leadership, initiative, and the Thermo Fisher Scientific 4-I values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement
  • Proven track record to make logical assumptions, identify trends, incorporate information, draw conclusions from data, and benchmark results against appropriate baselines
  • Ability to analyze and communicate variances to management as well as identifying and implementing operational improvements
  • Strong written communication skills, along with clear and concise verbal skills, are required. The candidate will have the ability to acquire operational consensus with easy to understand analysis and presentations. Proven record to communicate to management is required to be successful in this position
  • Shown history of participating on cross functional teams and building interpersonal relationships with peers and operating partners
  • Ability to balance multiple assignments, has good judgment, and prioritizes projects and time efficiently
  • Dedication to continuous learning, show career progression and development, and seek opportunities to stretch capabilities
  • Excellent skills with MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, and COGNOS are required; skills with Power BI are preferred

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or other relevant background
  • 2+ years of meaningful work experience
