You will be a key member of the Sourcing and Purchasing team responsible for EMEA Direct Purchasing to ensure that we can meet or exceed our evolving growth targets. Your success will be measured by the team’s ability to translate MRP driven demand into supplier deliveries that will satisfy the spare part business needs.

You will handle and champion the EMEA Purchasing team's success by setting targets for performance, leading department daily standard work and providing solid developmental leadership.

This role can be handled from any country in Europe.

A day in the Life:
  • Develop, train, and mentor a cross functional team of Purchasing Professionals in various levels of their careers
  • Lead and participate tiered meetings
  • Watch part shortages and advise partners on impact
  • Proactively manage exceptions and take actions
  • Be the first point of contact for buyers to assist with critical issues
  • Work with Internal contacts to support critical issues as needed (Supply Chain, Field Service Engineers, Internal suppliers, Global Procurement)
  • Build and update important metrics and implement RCCMs (Root Cause Countermeasures) for metrics that don’t meet expectations
  • Use the Practical Process Improvement to motivate change and improvements within the department that align with industry standards.
  • Drive global standardisation.
  • Work with the Planning team to modify and develop appropriate purchasing methodologies that meet customer requirements as well as inventory targets.
  • Ensure that spare parts returns are handled efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and operational protocols.
  • Report to senior leadership on barriers to execution and resolve problems by providing practical solutions.
  • Participate in global operations strategic purchasing initiatives.
  • Participate/ Lead purchasing projects.

Keys to Success:

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business and demonstrated ability leading a purchasing team.
  • Alternatively, 10+ years working in and leading a purchasing team/ supply chain team without a degree.
  • Continuous improvement certification (Six Sigma or equivalent) is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Experience in handling suppliers in a complex matrix environment
  • Proven experience in leading and developing strong teams.- with direct reports is must!
  • Proven success solving intricate problems with practical solutions.
  • Authority in MRP systems and the MS Office suite of products.
  • Authority in analyzing and presenting data to enable decision making.
  • Able to work collaboratively with internal customers in a global environment and influence technical employees, peers, and management without jeopardizing relationships.
  • Ability to model Role Model Leadership and reward the same on the team.
  • Fluent English is must for this role!
