How you will make an impact:

Customer Channels Groups (CCG) is comprised of 3 divisions which offer laboratory products serving the life science market. Primary office is Pittsburgh, PA serving a global distribution and customer service network.

The Senior Finance Director position plays an integral role in the Operations and Finance leadership for a $9B revenue group.   The CCG Operations Finance role will be a key business partner who will be a critical member of the group’s operations leadership team. The operations finance function works with senior management to drive capacity expansion projects, productivity and supports global functions in procurement, planning, warehousing, logistics, customer service, quality, continuous improvement (PPI) and facilities as they relate to the CCG P&L.  The role will contribute to the development and execution of the operation team’s annual operating plan (AOP) and play an integral part in aligning operation team goals with group/division leadership expectations.

What you will do:
  • Provide financial leadership and be an active business partner
  • Deliver valuable business analysis and models, as well as define and report meaningful financial and operational metrics that lead accurate business decision-making
  • Own the financial planning and reporting processes, including reporting, forecasts, and annual statements for the specific business
  • Operate in strong alignment with the other supporting functions (i.e. Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, PPI, Procurement) to constantly improve the operational efficiency
  • Establish and improve performance metrics to assist with investment evaluation and decision-making with accurate and timely reporting and analysis of data
  • Lead the business’s annual operating plan process as well as play a fundamental role in developing the long-term Strategic Action Plans
  • Oversight and management of activity-based modeling business-tool used across CCG to support critical decision-making
  • Administration of customer contract compliance function; identifying and implementing opportunities to improve benefits of customer contract terms
  • Remove barriers to execution across processes
  • Lead, develop and inspire the team to meet the business and Finance objectives

How you will get here:

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance field

Experience
  • 12+ years of relevant working experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Significant experience within FP&A and Controlling; Experience in manufacturing or warehouse operations.
  • Ability to articulate and demonstrate knowledge of key profit drivers for the business; understand market forces and their impact on future business prospects
  • Challenge assumptions and identify value creation opportunities
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with individuals and teams developing strong relationships
  • Effective communication at every level of the organization
  • Strong influencing skills and experience within A matrixed working environment
  • Self-motivated, higher level of flexibility and strong work ethic with the goal to get the job done
  • Continuous Improvement approach: Identify process and control gaps and champion improvement initiatives through Practical Process Improvement (PPI)

Travel requirements
  • Less than 15% domestic/international travel required.
