Covance is hiring a Manager Strategic Sourcing.
Job Summary
The position will be a mid-level into Global Strategic Sourcing. Duties include: Implement global sourcing strategies including spend & market analysis, contribute to strategic development projects, facilitate sourcing councils and manage spend categories/programs on smaller projects, under the guidance of the Sourcing Category Managers. Develop and maintain subject matter expertise on assigned categories/subcategories of spend, negotiate new and renewed pricing and contracts, Prepare and submit scopes of work and RFQ/P documents. Package and implement subsequent PO’s and contracts. This position requires good communications skills, ability to interpret trends and spend analysis, strong negotiating skills, and interaction with leadership teams. Also sourcing expertise within global and regional markets, alongside good project management skills and the ability to work independently as well as with a team. Customer service role is included with this position. Education/Qualifications:Minimum Required:
Non-Degree and 5-15 years of required strong sourcing experience
Associate Degree with 5-8 years of Sourcing experience
Preferred is Undergraduate Degree with 3-5 years of experience in purchasing (not P2P), supply chain, or sourcing.
Prefer Professional designations/certifications/licenses: CPM, CIPS Experience:Experience:
Regional and/or global sourcing responsibilities
Years of experience in the sourcing job discipline
Lead projects and/or teams
Proven sourcing negotiation and understanding/knowledge of key sourcing contractual language
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
Possess ability to work with complex legal documents
Ability to communicate both verbally and written form effectively and professionally with end users and vendors
Demonstrated Team player
Competent skills in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, & PowerPoint)
